Full Apartment Renovation
Complete gut renovation of a 2-bedroom apartment in Chelsea, including structural wall removal to create an open-concept living area, full electrical and plumbing updates, and premium finishes throughout.
The Challenge
The apartment had a maze-like layout with multiple small rooms, outdated knob-and-tube wiring, and original plaster walls in poor condition. The client wanted an open concept while maintaining one private bedroom.
Our Solution
We removed a non-load-bearing wall between the kitchen and living room, completely rewired the apartment with modern electrical, repaired and skim-coated all plaster walls, and applied a cohesive paint palette throughout. We added custom crown molding and baseboards for a finished, upscale look.
Results
A dramatic transformation from dark and cramped to bright and open. The unified paint scheme created visual flow between spaces, and the new layout increased the usable living area by approximately 30%. The apartment appraised 25% higher post-renovation.
