Industrial loft conversion that balanced raw architectural elements with refined finishes. Exposed brick was preserved and sealed, while new drywall areas received a sophisticated paint treatment that complemented the industrial aesthetic.
The raw loft had beautiful 14-foot ceilings and massive windows but felt cold and unfinished. The brick was dirty and crumbling in places, and the concrete floors were stained. The client wanted to keep the industrial character while adding warmth and livability.
We carefully cleaned and sealed the exposed brick without painting over it, built a mezzanine sleeping level with steel and glass railings, and painted all new drywall in a warm greige that complemented the brick. The existing steel ductwork was painted in matte black to blend with the ceiling. Concrete floors were professionally sealed with a satin finish.
The loft maintains its authentic industrial soul while feeling like a home. The sealed brick adds warmth and texture, and the paint colors shift beautifully throughout the day with the changing natural light from the huge windows. The mezzanine added a full sleeping area without sacrificing the open feel.
