Complete transformation of a 450 sq ft studio into a multifunctional living space with defined sleeping, working, and entertaining zones. Strategic paint colors created visual separation without physical walls.
The studio was a blank white box with no definition between living and sleeping areas. The client worked from home and needed a functional office space that could disappear when entertaining. The existing paint was flat builder-grade white with scuffs and marks throughout.
We used paint to create zones: warm white for the living area, a soft charcoal accent wall behind the Murphy bed to visually recess the sleeping area, and an energizing sage for the built-in desk nook. All trim was painted in crisp white for definition. A custom Murphy bed with integrated desk and shelving maximized the floor plan.
The studio functions like a one-bedroom apartment. The paint-defined zones are subtle but effective, and the Murphy bed completely transforms the space from office to guest-ready in seconds. The client says it feels like a completely different apartment.
